AI promises to make process-driven workflows easier, however building a custom AI tool is the exact opposite. Automat uses generative AI to turn any recorded video or screen-share into a simple, one-click button.
Problem Automat’s founders needed a name, identity and distinct way to tell their story. The founders had a unique product but needed a brand that conveyed their offering a compelling, human way.
Solution Named after a mid-century coin-operated food dispenser, we built the brand’s identity, launch campaign, and website to feel playful, intuitive and easy to use.




STRATEGY We rejected the industry’s trends and tropes entirely. We avoided jargony copy, cold overly-technical interfaces, and network imagery to build a brand tone that felt elementary, conversational, and approachable. Our goal was to build a brand in lock-step with their product experience.


THE BRAND Geometric shapes, rich color, bold typography, and playful illustration combine to illicit a feeling that the user is clearly in command. The brand communicated the product’s promise and stood out in the noisy AI market as a meaningful solution for non-technical operators.





DESIGN SYSTEM Warm, geometric, and deliberately un-tech. We crafted a design system in direct opposition to the dominant AI aesthetic: simple, fun, and as intuitive as the product promises.

We developed a complete brand from naming and verbal identity to visual identity, launch campaign, and website. We designed the brand to feel intuitive, tactile, and as easy to interact with as the product. Automat believes that AI should work for you, not the other way around. We took this to heart when building a brand system that mirrored their approach to AI.
Following our engagement, Automat successfully closed their second round of seed funding within three months. Today, they work withFortune 500 enterprise clients and and continue to introduce their workflows into new industries.
