Uniswap has an active community that recently surpassed a historic $2T in decentralized trading volume. The Uniswap Foundation was established to sustain and grow the ecosystem of developers, researchers, and community members advancing the blockchain protocol. We led a brand refresh of the foundation to better align with their mission and signal a new era of community and building in decentralized finance.
Problem The Uniswap Foundation was facing challenges from distinguishing itself from the well known Uniswap token while still communicating its connection. Our job was to build a brand that positioned itself within the ecosystem and highlighted their role supporting the community.
Solution We refreshed the brand’s identity, creating a clear story around community connections rather than centering the foundation itself. The iconic Uniswap unicorn was referenced, giving the Foundation a distinctive mark and a nod to the core brand while helping it feel differentiated.





BRAND The brand refresh utilized the equity of the Uniswap unicorn, giving it a shield and a more institutional feel as a nod to classical university identities. The new identity was built to stand on its own, while acknowledge its connection to the core Uniswap brand.






DESIGN SYSTEM The messaging and design system drew inspiration from constellations in the night sky. Just as travelers made connections and patterns as guidance, the Uniswap Foundation unites people, ideas, and technology to guide new thinking and innovation. The system was built to cohesively spread across governance, grants, events, and digital mediums.

The Uniswap Foundation was established to nurture the Uniswap ecosystem, the largest decentralized financial platform, with $2T in trading volume. Company Policy built a brand identity and visual system that represented the central theme: one protocol, infinite possibilities. The design system referenced the constellation of activity, exploration, and communities within the ecosystem.
Today the Foundation currently holds $85.8M in treasury and has committed over $26M in ecosystem grants to developers building on the protocol.
